DIY Monogram Succulent Sign

While we have been settling nicely into our new house, I’m still trying to add the little touches that make it feel more like our home. One of the best ways I know how to do that is to add little details that I have made. For a while I have seen monogram signs stuffed with beautiful succulents but never attempted one. After looking at an empty spot on our office bookshelves, I figured this would be the perfect addition! A trip to the local Joann’s in my mask and I was off to the races.

I love how this sweet sign turned out and already have plans on how I could make it even better and possibly put it up on Etsy? Like if you would buy one!

Supplies:

  • Hollow Paper Mache Letter
  • CraftSmart Paint: Black
  • Assortment of fake succulents
  • Utility knife
  • Foam Brush
  • Hot Glue Gun

Directions:

Begin by using the utility knife to carefully cut the top of the paper mache letter, revealing an open box.

Paint the outside and back of the letter. I used a chalky black paint but using a bright color or pattern instead to match your décor would be perfect on this step!

Once dry, begin to place the succulents. Placing before gluing helps to plan. I did about 4 arrangements before I was happy with the plan. Using a good amount of glue on the stems of the succulents, begin to carefully glue inside of the box.

Optional: Add moss to your design if it isn’t filled in enough!
