Our Pup is 8, Let’s Eat Cake!

Happy Birthday to our sweet doggo! This last weekend we celebrated our pups eighth birthday at our house with all of our families. Our tradition with her birthdays are to make a layered meat cake with mashed sweet potato frosting and some sort of a cupcake for the humans that come to the party. We always joke that she is more human than dog because she gets so excited when we have visitors and she will dive into the gift bag to see what she received! It is the cutest thing!

Check out how I made the cake below!

Oven Baked Kale Chips

I’ve been wanting to make kale chips since lockdown over a year ago, but today I finally got to it! I was craving a salty snack and with leftover kale from a Lemon Kale Spaghetti dish from a few days ago, I had no excuses. It came together quickly and both my fiancé and I loved them! The whole sheet tray was eaten either before or during dinner. It’s been extra busy at our house recently between wedding planning and the day to day of our usual lives so any extra time saved in the kitchen on snacks is a win!

Have you made Kale Chips? Comment below with your favorite seasonings to add!

Chocolate Fondue – Date Night

Our fondue date night wouldn’t have been complete without a sweet concoction! We both have a sweet tooth so after we had a little break from our savory fondue selection (check out the recipe here), we were ready for chocolate. This came together super quick and we set it up on our living room table to snack on while we watched a move. Talk about a perfect night!

I want to hear from you! Have you tried fondue at home? Do you prefer sweet or savory?

Savory Fondue Night – Date Night

If you’ve been following for the blog, one of my favorite things to do is surprise my fiancé with a date night. So far I’ve done a blanket fort, a “trip to Paris” themed night, and now we had a fondue night! We started off with a cheese fondue and a few hours later (we were really full after the savory) we made a sweet chocolate fondue. Check out the cheese fondue recipe I used below with the chocolate fondue recipe in an upcoming post!

Greek Inspired Summer Salad

For real, how crazy has 2020 been so far? If it’s taught me anything though, it’s to be resourceful in how I use ingredients so they don’t go to waste. It ended up going in a Greek inspired direction once I found the Kalamata olives in my cabinet. Unfortunately, I was out of feta! I LOVE feta so that will be going on my next grocery delivery ASAP. This fun salad has me dreaming of warmer days and being out of the house!

I want to hear from you! With recipes, what do you want to see more of? Sides, Appetizers, or Entrees?
