Merry Christmas Gnome – Wood Cutout Holiday Decoration

We are gnome for the holidays with this festive wooden cutout christmas gnome! I made a smaller version for my “HOME” sign in December of 2020 and still think it’s one of my favorite projects to date. I decided to make it a little bigger, use my cricut explorer 2 for the sign and I am obsessed with how it turned out! The bright red’s and green’s bring even more holiday cheer to our house and I’m very excited that it is now on out Etsy page here!

Gingerbread Wreath

The sweet smell of spices, molasses, and icing are in the air. Wait a minute… not quite for this gingerbread project! This gingerbread wreath is made from wood, paint, glitter and a lot of Christmas spirit. It’s always fun to have the Christmas music blaring as I get creative and make each piece special – no two houses are alike on this wreath and I love that. I felt inspired by a few Pinterest posts where they used cardboard, cut the cardboard into gingerbread houses and painted the icing on. I decided to take it a step further and make the base a little more durable with ¼ inch plywood.

The wreath is available on Etsy now! Click on the link for additional details – Gingerbread Wreath

What better way to start the 2021 twelve days of cookies than with a spiced gingerbread cookie! We have made our fair share of gingerbread over the years, but this one had frosting and sounded delicious. It was a must in our lineup this year.  Spoiler alert… It ended up being yummy just like we thought!

We are so excited to share this holiday tradition with you again this year. Grab a cup of coffee or cocoa and let’s get started!

Christmas Cookies in July – Loaded S’mores Cookies

Is it even July if I don’t have a post about Christmas cookies?? If you are new to the blog, cookies are probably the favorite baked item and Christmas is easily the holiday with the most content on here! My mom and I have a tradition of the 12 Days of Cookies leading up to Christmas, if you want to read more about the 2020 cookies check out some of these popular cookies from last year (Peanut Butter and Oreo Brookies, Pecan Pie Bars)! These cookies will 100% be made again, probably this weekend they were that good! These have the crunch and chew of a good s’more, and don’t worry they are LOADED with chocolate and marshmallows. Definitely the perfect summer cookie to make!

Disney Themed Interchangeable HOME Sign

A few weeks back I shared that I was commissioned to do two of these interchangeable home signs for one of my friends. Drumroll please…. It’s finished! It was completed a few weeks before Christmas but with the 12 Days of Cookies, I didn’t have time to get this one up. I am so excited to share how it turned out with all of you! Gnome Place Like Home for the Holidays

Merry Christmas Everyone! I wish you all a very happy and healthy holiday. There is no place like home for the holidays like the song puts so well, so I’ve added a new cutout to our HOME sign to celebrate. This Christmas gnome has been greeting us for a few weeks now when we enter our home, and I felt he was the perfect way to send our season’s greetings to all of you.

1st Day of Cookie – Glazed Cider Cookies

There’s a special chill to the air around Christmas for me, almost like the cold winter air is mixed with holiday spirit making it crisper and somehow more welcoming against my bare face. This Christmas might be a little different in how it is celebrated but the Christmas chill is a comfort this year to me. So while I snuggle under a blanket writing this with a half-eaten glazed cider cookie next to me, I hope you all feel the warmth of the holiday season like a hot cup of spiced cider as well.

Merry Christmas Eve!

Christmas Trivia Game

My fiancé and I have a fun tradition of playing a game or two of Christmas trivia on Christmas Eve together. This year, I was put in charge of putting together a virtual holiday activity for my team at work and of course I chose a game of trivia as one of the options! I’ve attached a PDF of the questions and answers for you and your family to play and enjoy this holiday season.

Do you have a tradition on Christmas Eve? If you do I would love to hear about it! Comment below with your Christmas Eve traditions or how well you did on the trivia game!

2nd Day of Cookie – Gingerbread Teddy Bears

We couldn’t help ourselves when we saw these cute teddy bear cookies! With Christmas only a few days away, we were excited to make a little toy lookalike cookie in the famous gingerbread flavor. While it may not be as fancy as when Queen Elizabeth I would make gingerbread characters for her honorary guests, these little bears are too adorable not to try. These cookies are prepping me for the next holiday activity tonight with my fiancé, gingerbread house decorating!

These gingerbread teddy bears are such a fun activity for little kids! The trick was that we used 3 different sizes cookie scoops to make our lives easier. We made these with my nephew and it was a blast!

Christmas Scavenger Hunt

I was assigned to host our group’s virtual holiday party this year and I was so excited! All of my coworkers agreed who better to host a Christmas activity than the person who has been listening to Christmas music since October 1st. I had two activities planned: Trivia and a Scavenger Hunt. Tomorrow I am posting the trivia game but today I am giving you the supplies for a scavenger hunt (PDF to download is below). We did this on a Zoom meeting but it would also work with your own families at home.
