Cookies & Cream Football Cheese Ball

Super Bowl Sunday is here! It is the culmination of my family’s love of football since fall. Plus, what better reason to gather with family and friends to eat a lot of snacks and yell at the television together?? This year I don’t have any loyalties to the teams playing (my Eagles didn’t quite make the cut this year), so instead I am hoping for a great game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers. This year it is at my parents’ house and they left what appetizers or desserts to bring up to us so hello cookies and cream cheeseball! This was a first attempt and it is sweet without being too sweet.

Who are you cheering for this year in the Super Bowl? Any must have snacks at your party?

Ingredients:

  • 8oz. cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. chocolate syrup
  • 18 double stuff Oreos, crushed
  • 1 cup mini chocolate chips
  • For Dipping: Nilla wafers, Graham Crackers, and Extra Oreos

Directions:

Beat cream cheese and butter in an electric mixer until combined. Add the powdered sugar and beat until smooth, about 2 minutes.

Remove 2 tablespoons of the mixture and place into a small Ziploc bag.

Add crushed Oreos and chocolate syrup to the main mixture and mix until fully combined.

Line a small bowl with plastic wrap, scoop the mixture into the bowl and cover with the extra plastic wrap. Place in refrigerator for about an hour.

Remove from refrigerator and place onto the serving tray. Carefully shape into a football using your hands.

Cover the cheeseball with mini chocolate chips, making sure to carefully press into the sides.

Remove the Ziploc bag from the refrigerator, cut a small hole from the corner and pipe the lacing onto the football cheeseball.

Place in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
