Friendsgiving Place Settings – Pumpkin Pie Boxes with Candy Leaves

My husband and I decided to host our first ever Friendsgiving this weekend! We invited a few of our friends and got to planning. We will have all the classics; turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing, cranberries, and of course some delicious desserts too! Dessert isn’t just to be eaten this year though, our place settings are these cute pumpkin pie slice boxes.

I wanted to do a unique setting for our friends so I jumped on my Cricut Design Space and started looking around at projects. After a little searching I found this fun project. You can make it too if you search for Pumpkin Pie Box in Cricut Design Space! I clicked customize in order to add each of our names to the top of the box. It’s a step that takes an extra second but turned out wonderful! Plus there won’t be any disagreements about which box of candy is theirs at the end of the night! I got the paper supplies from Michaels Crafts and the Chocolate Leaves from Amazon.

Do you add place settings to your Thanksgiving or Friendsgiving tables? What is your favorite place card?

Lanterns Fit for an Emperor

My brother-in-law will sometimes come up with eccentric ideas. Some are on the mellow end with a Polar Plunge; then there was the idea he had for his 35th birthday a few weeks back. He decided to have a royal event complete with long ball gowns topped with tiaras, and a royal court. When he first proposed the idea, I’m not sure any of us really knew what to expect but the entire evening turned out beautiful.

One of the items I helped with was the centerpieces. We wanted to keep it whimsical but also centered around the man of the event. The lanterns for my wedding were repurposed to have the silhouette of my brother in law on the 4 sides and placed on every table. Combined with some flowers, lights, and a few butterflies, the centerpieces were truly fit to celebrate an emperor.

I did the silhouette in Cricut design space, but if you have access/knowledge of Photoshop that will work as well. I started with a side profile of him, and during the import process, made sure to remove the background and selected only cut before the import process was complete. It will give you an option to print then cut but only the outline was needed for this project.

The Perfect Blend – Coffee Wedding Favors

We are so happy and very lucky that we were able to have a wedding with all of our close family and friends in attendance. Wedding favors are the perfect way to send guests home a little personalized message of “we appreciate that you came”. Below is what we did but there are so many great ideas out there! Make it unique to who you are as a couple or incorporate a special memory. My husband and I had our first date at a coffee shop, so we brought that coffee (same shop!) back to our wedding day as our favor.

Comment with what you did for your favors (or what you want to do one day).

Wedding Welcome Sign

After months of promising some exciting projects for the wedding, I FINALLY get to share! Figuring out the signs for a wedding can be a little daunting since it is a huge piece of what the guests would be guided by, accent the other decorations, and have to hold up as their own decoration as well. Luckily I knew from the start what kind of sign I wanted, a beautiful acrylic sign with painted brush strokes and elegant mixed with fun writing. If you aren’t sure what you want your signs to look like, Pinterest is filled with unique and fun ideas! I loaded up on acrylic sheets (some of which I ordered larger and cut down to the size I want but I’ll get into that later) and now the hardest part, deciding on the paint and font color that would be used everywhere. No pressure right? Thankfully, while wandering through a Michaels craft store the paint popped out at me. I am telling you right now that outdoor venue, deep fall colors, and copper acrylic signs = complete perfection.

Easter Cutout for Interchangeable HOME Sign

Happy Easter Everyone! I hope this year you are all able to safely spend time with your loved ones and enjoy eating as many Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs as you want! I try not to eat too much candy but something about Easter morning I always reach for one of those peanut buttery delicious eggs (usually before breakfast, oops!). Anyone else like that with a specific candy on Easter?

One of my favorite decoration additions to our house is this interchangeable home sign. It allows me to get creative with a cutout of my choice from start to finish. This one came together quickly and that’s all thanks to my scroll saw and Cricut machine. If you need holiday gnome inspiration checkout my St. Patrick’s or Christmas cutouts!
