Adjustable Entryway Sign

Home sweet home! Is there anything better than walking through those doors and being HOME at the end of a workday? Home has so many seasons of décor. In summer it can have everything from Independence Day to pineapples and popsicles. In winter its snowflakes and Christmas. What better way to accommodate all of those seasons and holidays than to create an interchangeable sign. Plus, I have been looking forward to a reason to use a scroll saw and this is a perfect opportunity for the unique shaped O in home or welcome!

Christmas Stocking Holder in July

My love of Christmas absolutely embraces the phrase “Christmas in July”. With a new apartment a whole new opportunity for Christmas crafts opened up and I could not wait to make the first decoration any longer. I made a custom stocking for my boyfriend this last Christmas, so it was fitting that the first decoration would be a stocking hanger. I am already excited to hang this up in our cute little home this holiday season. Even though it’s a little weird to be wearing shorts while working on a Christmas craft, I loved every minute and I’m sure that this won’t be my last one this July.

Seasoned with LOVE

This last weekend we really embraced the Cricut machine and this is one of three projects that we made with it. You read that right, we have two more coming your way shortly! This cute little aluminum container was a find at Michaels (Hello 70% off? Yes Please!), and a red removable vinyl Cricut sheet. This has been a thought for a few months now but we couldn’t find the perfect sized metal basket until now. We filled it with oils, balsamic vinegars, salt, and pepper – this kitchen is seasoned with LOVE.

DIY Summer Wreaths

Summer colors are so exciting to work with when crafting. Between the brilliant greens and the bright shades, it’s almost hard to pick what direction of a color scheme to go with! We went with two different takes of this summer wreath. One focused on the greens while the other embraced the vibrant colors of the season.  We went a little crazy with the florals/greens for these wreaths and love how they turned out.

July 4th Treats

Happy July 4th Everyone! I hope you spent the day eating way too much BBQ and treats (like I did!). Then spending the night watching fireworks to celebrate! As always, my parents made a huge BBQ and it was delicious. I volunteered to make some desserts for the party and brought patriotic cake pops, Rice Krispy treats, and Oreos with candy coating stripes. This was my first attempt ever at making cake pops and I was pleasantly surprised with how well I did. Wishing you all a safe and happy July 4th celebration!

Patriotic Monogram Sign

I’ve brought it up a few times before but I am a huge history buff. One of my favorite time periods to read about is surrounding the revolutionary war. Too perfect with July 4th tomorrow! While I am writing this, I am thinking about how I should reread the book that got me interested in the revolutionary time period. 1776 by David McCullough. (If you haven’t read it but are interested to learn about the events surrounding the revolution, it is highly recommended!)

I am pretty in love with the monogram letter door hangers that I have seen on Pinterest lately, and July 4th seemed like the perfect holiday to make my own.  Plus, the longest time spent on this sign was waiting for the paint to dry. Actual work time was maybe 20 minutes!

Baked Grapefruit

I’ve been having a major craving for grapefruit this week. When I was a kid and grapefruit was on the menu, I would load it with a mountain of sugar to cut into the bitterness. I try to avoid that much sugar now that I’m older so the best way to bring out the natural sweetness is to bake it. With a few spices to add even more flavor, this baked grapefruit dish is sure to cut into that craving with the perfect mix of sweet and tart. Also, with the high vitamin C content in grapefruit it’s good for complexion. Yes please to good skin by the pool this summer!

Quick and Easy Yogurt Parfait

Not sure if you have noticed this yet but… I LOVE breakfast food. If I have it any meal of the day, I am in pure bliss. Everything from waffles to omelets and everything in between are fair game for me! Needless to say, I am not someone who can (or wants to) skip breakfast. While doing the weeks grocery shopping and needing to prepare my breakfasts, I found a few ingredients perfect for a breakfast parfait and I was ready. All you need is yogurt, fruit, and granola!

Countdown Sign

I am one of those people that is very enthusiastic about counting down to upcoming events. Everything from Christmas to vacations to a festival that I want to go to. So hyped up sometimes that the thought of it makes it hard for me to sleep! Most of the supplies for the sign came out of heartache from a different project. I am happy to report back that there are no bad feelings about how this DIY sign turned out though. Let the countdown to Ireland begin (I wish it was at 00)!
