With Bing Crosby’s “White Christmas” playing through our house, the snow continues to pile up outside (White Christmas is my favorite Christmas movie of all time! If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend watching it ASAP). It’s the first snow day of the season for us and it falls perfectly at the beginning of December. I LOVE snow during Christmastime. There’s something magical about the way Christmas lights glisten against the pristine candy like landscape. The first snow day fell on a weekend which means only one thing… Christmas Craft Project! Our family has some really special stockings that were handmade by my mom years ago. Surprisingly, with such beautiful stockings we didn’t have a stocking holder for them. Command Strips have worked great but we wanted a unique way to display our stockings. My mom and I brainstormed the idea for these whimsical stocking holders while decorating a Gingerbread Train (found at Target) and now we are excited to share it with you!

Supplies:
- 2 Sanded Pine Boards (1 x 6 x 32)
- Apple Barrel Paint: Real Red
- Americana Paint: Mistletoe
- Cricut Machine
- White Vinyl Sheets (Cricut)
- Snowflake Cabinet Knobs: Silver Nickel
Directions:
Begin by painting one board Real Red and the other board Mistletoe.
While waiting for the boards to dry completely, begin to cut the letters for the stocking holders using the Cricut Machine. The font used was Curlz in type size 134. We used three 8 ½ x 11 sheets of white vinyl (1st: Candy Cane, 2nd: Wishes Andtoe, 3rd: Mistle Kisses).
To make sure that the letters were straight, we used a long sewing ruler that measured 2 ½ inches up from the bottom of the boards. Carefully place the letters, making sure to be conscious of spacing.
After placement, firmly press down on the letters to ensure none of the ends are up.
Spray both of the boards with the clear protective spray.
Wait for it to dry entirely before adding the snowflake cabinet knobs (to hold the stockings) and two sawtooth hangers.
After putting the stocking holders on the wall, make sure to hang your stockings with care and enjoy.
