Bridal Party Thank You Gift

I can’t believe that it happened, I married the man of my dreams! After almost a year and a half of planning, I got married on September 24th at the perfect outdoor venue, with the perfect weather, and most important… to my perfect man! It’s crazy how that day feels like a dream. It’s the kind of dream I want to remember and cherish every beautiful detail. One of the things that made the day go by so smooth was our whole wedding party was amazing. From bringing a shirt steamer to make sure the groom’s button up wasn’t wrinkled, to coordinating where ALL of the decorations went, to the heartfelt toasts they gave. They truly came in clutch.

Prior to the wedding, I wanted to ensure I thanked my maid of honor and bridesmaids for everything they had done for me before and during the wedding day. I started gathering items for a few months and put them together in these cute bags a few day before the wedding. Below is a list of what I put in my thank you bags to my bridal party, with a link to a few unique items I bought them (hello mimosa cubes!).

Bro-BQ Party

While I was at my lemon themed bridal shower, my fiancé hosted our closest male relatives at the house for a Brobeque AKA Bro-BQ to celebrate the upcoming wedding! It was easy enough to plan because there were only three items we needed: beef, booze, and cigars. We even found chocolate cigars for my nephew (See’s Candies) and a cake that looked like a burger (Smith’s Grocery Store) for some dessert. I am hoping it catches on because my fiancé had a blast!

How do you feel about a Bro-BQ? I’ve included the link to the chocolate cigars below!

I Found My Main Squeeze – The Perfect Bridal Shower

First of all, a HUGE thank you to my wonderful maid of honor and bridesmaids who planned the most amazing bridal shower! My only request was that it be lemon theme because I thought it was so dang cute from what I had seen on Pinterest. They ran with it and coordinated everything from decorations and games to snacks and drinks. It was the best feeling to have so many women I love and admire in one room to celebrate the upcoming wedding. It really did mean the world to me. I got home that evening and kept telling my future husband that I was sad it was over because I had a lot of fun! Don’t feel too bad for him, he hosted a relaxing party at our house while I was at the bridal shower and I can’t wait to share photos and details of that as well.

DIY Balloon Arch

If you are new to the blog, one of the big events in 2021 for me is that I am marrying my wonderful fiancé this fall! That means that all the activities are starting up and I am beyond excited. The first event that kicks everything off was my bridal shower at the end of July. I’ll do a post on how perfect that event was very soon. My maid of honor is equally into getting crafty. The day before the bridal shower we met up and started working on a balloon arch for the bridal shower. A fun decoration piece but even more so a great activity for her and I where we got to hang out, laugh, jam to some music, eat snacks, and of course drink coffee.

I’ve included the how to tutorial we used while building our balloon garland below. Pro tip, if you are making an arch like us, make sure to have some command strips to secure the garland to the wall.

Christmas Cookies in July – Loaded S’mores Cookies

Is it even July if I don’t have a post about Christmas cookies?? If you are new to the blog, cookies are probably the favorite baked item and Christmas is easily the holiday with the most content on here! My mom and I have a tradition of the 12 Days of Cookies leading up to Christmas, if you want to read more about the 2020 cookies check out some of these popular cookies from last year (Peanut Butter and Oreo Brookies, Pecan Pie Bars)! These cookies will 100% be made again, probably this weekend they were that good! These have the crunch and chew of a good s’more, and don’t worry they are LOADED with chocolate and marshmallows. Definitely the perfect summer cookie to make!

3 Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies

Baking is a comfort to me. In good times, I bake to celebrate. In hard times, I bake to feel nostalgic. This week has been full of emotions for me so baking tonight helped my mental state immensely. To feel that warmth and to have a delicious treat, I tested out this three ingredient peanut butter cookie. It tasted delicious! The main noticeable difference is that the cookie is more crumbly than a traditional peanut butter cookie.

If you are short on time or want an easy snack, I highly recommend making a batch of these up!

Air Fryer Chicken Sandwich Recipe

I LOVE my air fryer for weeknight dinners! I made this chicken sandwich last night and I know it will already be a staple for dinner at our house. The prep time was about 20 minutes but only because I wanted it to marinate in the buttermilk mixture for a little extra time. While it sat in the buttermilk I worked on sides and prepping the mixture to perform my dredge on the chicken.

Comment below with your favorite food to cook in the air fryer!

S’mores Please

As I write this I am cuddled up in a cabin with the wind going crazy outside and I have one thing on my mind, S’mores. The delicious fireside snack that is synonymous with campouts, campfires, and sticky finger memories. As the sweet treat occupies my mind (and seemingly far away in reality with the current weather), I instead wondered about the origins of the S’more. While there is some debate surrounding the actual origins, the most common story was that the recipe for a S’more was originally published in a Girl Scout Guidebook under the name “Some More” in 1927. It’s unsure of when it turned from “Some More” to “S’more” but the camping treat is sure to be a beloved treat by many.

It has also become increasingly popular to put a twist on the classes S’more! One of my favorite variations is to use a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup instead of a Hershey’s Chocolate Bar. I have had friends who have exchanged the classic graham cracker sandwiching material in place of other cookie varieties such as Oreos, Milano Cookies, or some homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies.

What’s a variation of the classic S’more that you enjoy? Make sure to follow here on the blog and on Instagram at take2create for more!

Spring Brunch Recipes

My fiancé and I were in charge of the May brunch tradition with his family this year. If you haven’t already checked out the table décor and some tips for table arrangements, the link to that post is here. We have been abnormally busy this May and that led to a few last minute decisions, such as what to even make! Thankfully Pinterest and Google came through for us and we landed on the following four recipes.

All of these recipes turned out wonderful! Including the Eggs Benedict where I: 1) Made my first Hollandaise sauce, and 2) Poached eggs for the first time! The recipe for the Eggs Benedict used a different technique for poaching eggs from what I have seen previously where you lower the eggs gently into the simmering water with a measuring cup. It worked great for me, well until I started rushing at the end as people arrived so I had a few eggs that weren’t as perfect.

Comment with which recipe you are excited to try out! If you aren’t already, make sure to follow us here on the blog and on Instagram at Take2Create.
