Pumpkin Scones

What is the most quintessential “Fall Flavor” to you? For me it is easily pumpkin. Everything from Pumpkin Cream Cold Brews to Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies, Pumpkin Beers and of course… Pumpkin Scones! For the next few weeks at least, if there is pumpkin flavor, I will be there! For the Halloween themed brunch, a good scone was a must. To add a little extra Halloween flare, I piped “BOO” with the spiced glaze. If I make these again around Halloween, I would definitely put a little dye in the base glaze to add a little extra Halloween vibe to the scone.

PSL = FALL

Fall is marked in my internal calendar as the day that the Pumpkin Spice Latte is released at Starbucks. Some may consider this to be “basic” but it is my special treat around this time of year and I know I’m not alone in this sentiment. It’s a sip full of fall and all the comforting feelings that the season brings to me. I’m a beleafer this year as always (Starbucks marketing is always so good with this drink)!

Anyone else consider PSL the beginning of fall? Comment below if you have a variation of a pumpkin coffee drink I should try!

Thankful-ly Burnt in Wood

The thought of holding an extremely hot tool for a prolonged period of time in hopes of getting that perfect line is not for the faint of heart (and for perfectionists trying it for the first time, stressful). I recommend a couple of things: 1) Don’t take it too seriously, imperfections add character to your sign and only you will notice them, 2) Flip on some music, have tea ready and make it an enjoyable experience, and 3) Place the woodburner somewhere safe when not in use… it wouldn’t hurt to know where the fire extinguisher is either, haha! In all honesty, woodburning can be a fun craft for any skill level. Just do it safely, with love, and the results are incredibly rewarding. Fluffy Pumpkin Bars with Spiced Frosting

Fall has such a distinct mood to me; it’s warm, cozy and all about pumpkin! This pumpkin bar recipe has been in our family since my grandpa created it years ago. Everyone in my family has different memories associated with these bars. My dad remembers waking up to the sweet spiced smell when he was young; my mom recalls how these were always at the annual Halloween party. Food brings family together, and the best food memories are the ones shared with family and friends. Warning: having one might make you want to finish the whole pan (this can be solved by sharing and finishing the whole pan together)!

FALL-ing in 2’s

Lately, we’ve had a slight obsession (okay, a huge obsession) with the pallet sign trend. So when we found two pallet’s on sale for half off at the local craft store, we were sold on the base for the next project. With our “Fall Fever” in full swing, the next decision to have FALL on the sign was easy. With the pallets in the cart, we selected the wood letters to add dimension, three fall acrylic paint colors and we were ready. Here are 2 takes on the same 3 items:

*Pine Pallet*                    *Wood Letters*                             *Paint*
