Wedding Welcome Sign

After months of promising some exciting projects for the wedding, I FINALLY get to share! Figuring out the signs for a wedding can be a little daunting since it is a huge piece of what the guests would be guided by, accent the other decorations, and have to hold up as their own decoration as well. Luckily I knew from the start what kind of sign I wanted, a beautiful acrylic sign with painted brush strokes and elegant mixed with fun writing. If you aren’t sure what you want your signs to look like, Pinterest is filled with unique and fun ideas! I loaded up on acrylic sheets (some of which I ordered larger and cut down to the size I want but I’ll get into that later) and now the hardest part, deciding on the paint and font color that would be used everywhere. No pressure right? Thankfully, while wandering through a Michaels craft store the paint popped out at me. I am telling you right now that outdoor venue, deep fall colors, and copper acrylic signs = complete perfection.

Bridal Party Thank You Gift

I can’t believe that it happened, I married the man of my dreams! After almost a year and a half of planning, I got married on September 24th at the perfect outdoor venue, with the perfect weather, and most important… to my perfect man! It’s crazy how that day feels like a dream. It’s the kind of dream I want to remember and cherish every beautiful detail. One of the things that made the day go by so smooth was our whole wedding party was amazing. From bringing a shirt steamer to make sure the groom’s button up wasn’t wrinkled, to coordinating where ALL of the decorations went, to the heartfelt toasts they gave. They truly came in clutch.

Prior to the wedding, I wanted to ensure I thanked my maid of honor and bridesmaids for everything they had done for me before and during the wedding day. I started gathering items for a few months and put them together in these cute bags a few day before the wedding. Below is a list of what I put in my thank you bags to my bridal party, with a link to a few unique items I bought them (hello mimosa cubes!).

I Found My Main Squeeze – The Perfect Bridal Shower

First of all, a HUGE thank you to my wonderful maid of honor and bridesmaids who planned the most amazing bridal shower! My only request was that it be lemon theme because I thought it was so dang cute from what I had seen on Pinterest. They ran with it and coordinated everything from decorations and games to snacks and drinks. It was the best feeling to have so many women I love and admire in one room to celebrate the upcoming wedding. It really did mean the world to me. I got home that evening and kept telling my future husband that I was sad it was over because I had a lot of fun! Don’t feel too bad for him, he hosted a relaxing party at our house while I was at the bridal shower and I can’t wait to share photos and details of that as well.

DIY Balloon Arch

If you are new to the blog, one of the big events in 2021 for me is that I am marrying my wonderful fiancé this fall! That means that all the activities are starting up and I am beyond excited. The first event that kicks everything off was my bridal shower at the end of July. I’ll do a post on how perfect that event was very soon. My maid of honor is equally into getting crafty. The day before the bridal shower we met up and started working on a balloon arch for the bridal shower. A fun decoration piece but even more so a great activity for her and I where we got to hang out, laugh, jam to some music, eat snacks, and of course drink coffee.

I’ve included the how to tutorial we used while building our balloon garland below. Pro tip, if you are making an arch like us, make sure to have some command strips to secure the garland to the wall.

Christmas Cookies in July – Loaded S’mores Cookies

Is it even July if I don’t have a post about Christmas cookies?? If you are new to the blog, cookies are probably the favorite baked item and Christmas is easily the holiday with the most content on here! My mom and I have a tradition of the 12 Days of Cookies leading up to Christmas, if you want to read more about the 2020 cookies check out some of these popular cookies from last year (Peanut Butter and Oreo Brookies, Pecan Pie Bars)! These cookies will 100% be made again, probably this weekend they were that good! These have the crunch and chew of a good s’more, and don’t worry they are LOADED with chocolate and marshmallows. Definitely the perfect summer cookie to make!

Spring Brunch Recipes

My fiancé and I were in charge of the May brunch tradition with his family this year. If you haven’t already checked out the table décor and some tips for table arrangements, the link to that post is here. We have been abnormally busy this May and that led to a few last minute decisions, such as what to even make! Thankfully Pinterest and Google came through for us and we landed on the following four recipes.

All of these recipes turned out wonderful! Including the Eggs Benedict where I: 1) Made my first Hollandaise sauce, and 2) Poached eggs for the first time! The recipe for the Eggs Benedict used a different technique for poaching eggs from what I have seen previously where you lower the eggs gently into the simmering water with a measuring cup. It worked great for me, well until I started rushing at the end as people arrived so I had a few eggs that weren’t as perfect.

Comment with which recipe you are excited to try out! If you aren’t already, make sure to follow us here on the blog and on Instagram at Take2Create.

Spring Brunch Table Setting

I’ve been a little sporadic with my posts this May and it is definitely because life has been way busier than expected this month! Wedding planning and crafting for the big day has given me a lot of great material during this month in my spare time. The only issue is that I want to keep it all a surprise until the wedding day, so be prepared for an overload of posts come the end of this year!

In the meantime while we anxiously await some wedding material posts, I’m excited to share this fun May brunch table setting with you! This came together while wandering through Hobby Lobby (if you haven’t noticed already, I love to wander through craft stores and let them motivate me on what to do/create next). The inspiration is beachy colors and vibes. The calm blue colors of the table runner, wicker chargers, imperfect glass vase, and some wooden flowers/fake florals to finish it off led to the perfect setting for the upcoming brunch.

Easter Cutout for Interchangeable HOME Sign

Happy Easter Everyone! I hope this year you are all able to safely spend time with your loved ones and enjoy eating as many Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs as you want! I try not to eat too much candy but something about Easter morning I always reach for one of those peanut buttery delicious eggs (usually before breakfast, oops!). Anyone else like that with a specific candy on Easter?

One of my favorite decoration additions to our house is this interchangeable home sign. It allows me to get creative with a cutout of my choice from start to finish. This one came together quickly and that’s all thanks to my scroll saw and Cricut machine. If you need holiday gnome inspiration checkout my St. Patrick’s or Christmas cutouts! To see my commissioned Disney HOME sign with ALL the options check out the full video here!

DIY Easter Egg Sign with Peek-A-Boo Bunny Ears

It has been a crazy couple of months here at our house and I imagine it will only get busier as we get closer to the wedding date! I am so excited to share all of the fun projects that are coming together for the wedding but I will be saving them for after the celebration. I don’t want to spoil any of the surprise for guests that follow me here on the blog. I have not been as active on here between my day job (short staffed) and wedding plans so taking a step away to do a quick Easter project was a welcome change. I found this wooden egg sign at Michaels for 50% off and started playing with an egg design and bunny ears popping out from behind. Jury is still out on if I will keep the bunny ears because I love the egg design too much, hello glittery top coat!
