5 Minute DIY Little Green Monster

There’s a little green monster on your back! No it isn’t jealousy, it’s this cute little creation. Sorry for the scare, I just couldn’t help myself with Halloween less than a week away. Is anyone else getting extra excited? This project took less than five minutes and it only took three items (four if you count the dot of hot glue)! Read on to see how to make this five minute Halloween craft!

Vampire Pumpkin Painting

This past week, one of my great friends came over to the apartment and we did a girls night. I don’t remember the last time I painted instead of carved a pumpkin and it was a blast! We talked and laughed as we made up some gluten free pumpkin chocolate chip muffins (shout out to Trader Joe’s for the mix!), popped open a bottle of champagne for mimosas, and painted. She is an amazing artist, so while she did a portrait of Edward Scissorhands on her pumpkin, I decided to make a fun cartoon vampire mouth.

Comment below with what you will paint on your pumpkin this year for Halloween!

Savory Stuffed Breakfast Biscuits

This stuffed biscuit does not scream Halloween or even fall but I wanted to create a savory dish for our brunch. If you haven’t already, check out the Halloween Themed Brunch post where I talk about why and how we pulled it off. I would equate the taste of this biscuit to a homemade Jimmy Dean sausage sandwich but in the best way (and I personally love those). This was an easy dish to make and if you want to save even more time, try making the biscuit dough in the food processor!

Slow Cooker Spiked Apple Cider

When coming up with a Halloween themed brunch, one of the first decisions that I wanted to settle on was the mixed drink that everyone could enjoy (slightly embarrassing that this was before even food decisions were made). Say what you will though, is it even brunch if you don’t have a fun drink in your hand? I thought about going with the classic mimosa because… well… mimosas are always a good idea with brunch. I scrolled through Pinterest looking at fun “Witch Margarita’s” or “Purple People Eaters”. What I settled on though was to make a spiked apple cider in my crockpot. With all of the cooking ahead, I knew that utilizing the crockpot would be extremely helpful. This drink turned out even better than I hoped. It warmed all of our guests up and tasted like fall in a cup.

Pumpkin Signs

Every morning I take our small puppy outside for a walk. Lately those early morning walks start with cold air filling my lungs and a slight chill to my fingertips. Fall is right on the cusp and I am embracing every moment. I am so excited to share the latest project here on the blog! This is a project where we knew what we wanted the base to look like but not necessarily how to finish it. This did give the perfect opportunity for another two take creation!

FALL Blocks DIY

While relaxing tonight, I decided to make a quick fall craft. I dug through the miscellaneous craft supplies and found four of these wooden blocks. The letters could easily use a Cricut machine or calligraphy pens but I do not have either at my place so I decided to hand paint the letters. Next time I would definitely use a calligraphy pen for clearer lines. While working on this, I thought of how I would like to improve my lettering skills. Comment below with what you would recommend to learn and improve!

Colorful Wreath

I got my first request for a custom made wreath and I am thrilled with how it turned out! The requestor (and a really good friend of mine) gave me a photo as inspiration and I used it to create the wreath pictured below. My friend has such an upbeat and outgoing personality that this fun and colorful wreath is perfect for her! This also stretched me to work with a different wreath form and medium on top of the wreath.

Repurposed Terra Cotta Pot – Scarecrow

We had so much fun making the pumpkin candy containers that we thought we would give another go at a terra cotta pot transformation. I’ve seen a few happy scarecrows but have never attempted to draw one myself (P.S. if looking for cartoon scarecrow faces online, make sure to type in “happy cartoon scarecrow face” or you might have nightmares that night haha). This was my take on a scarecrow candy container out of a terra cotta pot. All together the project probably took 30 minutes (less dry time) and made for a perfect weeknight project! What character would you put onto one of these candy containers? If you want to see me try it out, comment below with the character!

Power Song

Let’s be honest, we all have at least one song that makes you feel like you can take on the world. For me, that song is (and probably always will be) Girl on Fire by Alicia Keys. My favorite time to hear it is when I least expect it but need it the most. That happened this week while I was stressed and thinking about my day ahead and it came on the radio. It was like a mental weight was lightened as I sang loudly along, “Oh she got her head in the clouds and she’s not backing down”. Feeling relieved and inspired after my power song, I wanted to remind everyone reading this to go take on your biggest dreams and don’t back down!

What is your power song? Comment below!

DIY Pumpkin Candy Container

I can’t believe that it is almost to the end of summer! I’ve enjoyed my summer, but with the opportunity to make multiple crafts one night, we decided to throw a fall craft into the mix. We already have a few more projects lined up in the next month but this might be the easiest.

It did get us thinking about what candy to fill it with when it is time to put it out as a decoration. We went a little nostalgic too. Anyone remember the Mary Jane candies? It’s a peanut butter molasses taffy like candy that we would get when I was little around Halloween. I’m not sure if they still make them but I will definitely be checking in about a month from now. What candy would you fill these fall pumpkin candy containers with?
