Whimsical Stocking Holder

With Bing Crosby’s “White Christmas” playing through our house, the snow continues to pile up outside (White Christmas is my favorite Christmas movie of all time! If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend watching it ASAP). It’s the first snow day of the season for us and it falls perfectly at the beginning of December. I LOVE snow during Christmastime. There’s something magical about the way Christmas lights glisten against the pristine candy like landscape. The first snow day fell on a weekend which means only one thing… Christmas Craft Project! Our family has some really special stockings that were handmade by my mom years ago. Surprisingly, with such beautiful stockings we didn’t have a stocking holder for them. Command Strips have worked great but we wanted a unique way to display our stockings. My mom and I brainstormed the idea for these whimsical stocking holders while decorating a Gingerbread Train (found at Target) and now we are excited to share it with you!

Gifting Christmas Gnomes

Tis the season for holiday parties and celebrating with those that you love! What comes with needing to enjoy every moment of the company you’re with is also a need for that perfect gift to thank the hosts. A few posts back I made a little gnome and decided that a handmade gnome would be perfect for the upcoming parties. These little guys are slightly different in design and finish than the previous ones. They have already delighted at an early holiday party that we attended and as gifts for the attendees of our thanksgiving dinner. Would you want to order a few of these for your house or as gifts? Comment below and let me know!

Thanksgiving Leaf Place Card

Thanksgiving is the formal meal that my mom and I LOVE preparing the table for every year. We never do the same place setting and it’s a new, fun challenge every year.  This year we wanted to base a lot of the setting on natural items such as leaves and pumpkins but add a metallic flair to them. These place cards turned out exactly how we wanted and we adore them with the black plates for this year’s meal. How are you doing your place settings for Thanksgiving this year?

DIY Turkey Wreath

Tommy turkey came to our house in a fun new way this year. With a newly bare door after Halloween ended, I was itching for a Thanksgiving wreath. Yes, even though I am OBSESSED with Christmas, I also enjoy Thanksgiving and the beautiful decorations that can go along with it (I did have Christmas music playing while we made the wreaths though haha). This fun little wreath was made by both my mom and I. We used a new technique than before for the turkey’s feathers. I’m excited to share the step by step for how to make this little DIY wreath.

Update November 2022: We are happy to announce that our Etsy page now has the wooden cutout turkey for sale! You can order it painted or unpainted. Please note it is the wood cutout only – It will NOT include the completed wreath at this time. Click here to check it out!

DIY Luggage Gift Box

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY SWEET BOYFRIEND! It was his birthday over this last weekend, and I wanted to spoil him as much as he spoils me every day. With gift giving holidays, one of my favorite items to give isn’t an item at all. I love giving the gift of time together. Over the years we have seen comedians, musicals, and gone on trips. This year the gift was a trip and I wanted to wrap it in a cute way! Plus if I gave him an envelope, I’m pretty sure he could make a guess what it was. This little luggage gift box was the perfect solution! Do you wrap gifts in creative ways? Comment below with your gift wrap ideas!

Rich and Gooey Pumpkin French Toast

Okay everyone, this pumpkin French toast tasted like pumpkin pie filling and I am OBSESSED. It was rich, gooey, crunchy, and exactly what we needed on a beautiful fall day. This french toast bake was the star of our Halloween themed brunch food and I already want to make it again! I found the recipe at foodnetwork.com, so thank you Marcela Valladolid! My recommendation is to make it in a disposable tin. It makes for quick cleanup after the guests leave. Which is perfect because now it’s your time to relax after all the hard work you put in cooking a delicious meal.

Vampire Pumpkin Painting

This past week, one of my great friends came over to the apartment and we did a girls night. I don’t remember the last time I painted instead of carved a pumpkin and it was a blast! We talked and laughed as we made up some gluten free pumpkin chocolate chip muffins (shout out to Trader Joe’s for the mix!), popped open a bottle of champagne for mimosas, and painted. She is an amazing artist, so while she did a portrait of Edward Scissorhands on her pumpkin, I decided to make a fun cartoon vampire mouth.

Comment below with what you will paint on your pumpkin this year for Halloween!
